A novel one-day course for surgeons to train in hand fracture fixation and soft tissue management
• A novel one-day course to teach hand fracture fixation along with the soft tissue management of the hand
• Operate on a high-definition, composite, state of the art, hand model created using silicone and 3D printed tendons and bones
• Delegates will perform the incisions to access fractures of the hand, become familiar with the anatomy of the soft tissues and fix a variety of fractures using plates and screws
• Lectures on the principles of fracture management
• Case based discussions and simulated Procedure Based Assessments
• Course convened, taught and supervised by senior plastic and orthopaedic consultants
• Further instruction from hand surgery consultants of the Birmingham Hand Centre
• Applications for BAPRAS/ BSSH/ BOA/ RCS pending
